Georgian College, with campuses including in Owen Sound, Orangeville and Barrie, has announced it has committed to additional standards to strengthen programs for international students.
The move by them and the province’s other 22 public colleges means:
- commitment accuracy in marketing to international students
- requires international agents working with Colleges to have completed a sector-endorsed training program, ensures info about services, supports and facilities is provided before they arrive in Canada
- offers targeted assistance to help international students adjust to their new environment.
Georgian struck a International Student Support & Settlement Task Force back in 2021 to identify & close gaps in support & settlement services for International Students at the school.
