The South Bruce Grey Health Centre has responded to community concerns being raised about the Durham hospital site.

Last week a decision was made to transition 10 inpatient beds currently at the Durham hospital to Walkerton and Kincardine due to the critical shortage of staff and is expected to intensify over the summer.

This move will take effect as of June 3rd.

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre says this decision was made with the safety of patients and staff top of mind.

Relocating these beds will allow them to protect access to urgent and emergent services in Durham.

A community webinar will be held on May 14th.
