The museum first opened its doors on July 4th, 1951 at the site of the former Central School in Goderich acting as a way to preserve and share the rich history of Huron County founded by the collection of Joseph Herbert Neill.

Celebrating the museum and Joseph, the anniversary celebration will feature a day of creative fun and interactive activities for all ages.

Elizabeth French-Gibson, Senior Curator at the Museum says for 75 years the Museum has connected people with the stories which have shaped the community.
