With spring cleaning ramping up, the Township of Huron Kinloss is reminding residents of updates made to the open air burning bylaw this past December.
These changes applied to open air disposal fires, typically used when burning clean brush or untreated wood on rural and agricultural properties.
Those intending on having an open air burn they must have an approved Open Air Fire Permit.
When your permit is approved you no longer need to contact fire dispatch or notify the fire chief and instead a Controlled Burn in Progress sign must be posted at the primary entrance to the property, be clearly visible from the road over the course of the burn.
