A London woman is facing impaired driving charges after crashing into a hay wagon near Exeter this week.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Thames Road at Elimville Line around 6 p.m. on Jan. 24.

They found an SUV in considerable damage after it collided with the rear of a loaded hay wagon being towed by a tractor.

The lone driver was transported to South Huron Hospital for serious injuries. Police say they determined she was drinking prior to driving and obtained breath samples which were over the legal limit after she received treatment.

The 49-year-old now faces charges for operation while impaired, with a future court date set for Goderich.
