Kincardine awards tender for Downtown Dig Project

Tender was awarded to Lavis Contracting at an estimated cost of $7.4 million dollars for the major reconstruction of the historic downtown.

The Municipality of Kincardine announced that it has approved the tender to begin the Downtown Dig project.

It is set to begin as soon as late March weather permitting.

It was awarded to Lavis Contracting and involves the major reconstruction of the historic downtown at an estimated cost of $7.4 million dollars.

Kincardine Mayor Kenneth Craig says they recognize the project will significantly affect their businesses, residents and event organizers.

They say that is why they are working on everyone knowing Kincardine remains open for business & how they can get around during the Downtown Dig.

Events to inform include a second public open house and BIA breakfast in March.
