The Grey Bruce Community Safety and Well Being Planning alongside Community Drug and Alcohol Strategy are marking International Overdose Awareness Day.
Residents across Bruce and Grey are encouraged to take part by raising awareness, reducing stigma, remembering those lost to drug poisonings and support those affected by substance related harms.
This marks the 25th anniversary of International Overdose Awareness Day with this year taking on the theme “25 Years On.
Still Needed” Recent data in Grey-Bruce has shown a drop in opioid related deaths but the toxic drug crisis continues to impact individuals, families and communities across Canada with around 15 deaths everyday from opioid poisoning.
