Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services are urging people to use caution on Lake Huron after being called out for four water rescues in the last week.

For two of the incidents KFES have been called to since July 26, rescuers had to enter the water to safely bring those at risk to shore.

Bystanders assisted those in distress in the other two cases prior to KFES arriving on scene.

Two of the incidents involved overturned boats, one was a kayaker in distress, and one was a lone swimmer.

The fire service says even though personnel have undertaken comprehensive training for water rescue scenarios, they stress using caution and sound judgement so that training doesn’t need to be used.
