Members of Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services are involved in Movember.

Men around the world participate in this campaign by starting with a clean-shaven face on November 1st and letting their mustaches grow until the 30th to raise money and awareness of men’s health issues like prostate and testicular cancers.

Fire Prevention Officer Shane Watson was on the morning show Friday and says they also want to raise other health issues like mental health.

As of Friday, Watson says they have managed to raise over $27,000 ($7,000 through a silent auction and $20,000 from a golf tournament in September).

He says crews at both Stations 11 and 12 do an amazing job of creating awareness of the Movember campaign.
