John Taylor from the Kincardine Legion joins J.C. on the Shoreline Morning Show to talk about Legion events for the May, including the upcoming Bike Safety Rodeo on Saturday May 27th.

From a Legion Press Release:

The Royal Canadian Legion, Kincardine Branch 183, will be running a Youth Bike Safety Rodeo on Saturday morning, May 27th from 10:am to 12 noon in an effort to promote bike safety awareness on our roads for the children of our Community.

The Legion membership, along with help from South Bruce OPP Constable Kevin Martin, the Kincardine Lions, and the Kincardine Youth Cycling Program want to ensure that children will start the summer off, learning the rules of the road.  Additionally, we will have capable people on hand inspecting the basics of the participants’ bikes to ensure the necessary items are there and in proper working function.

Please promote the event to your students and potentially, their parents/guardians.

In addition to the safety aspect… all child participants will receive one ballot for an opportunity to win a $250.00 voucher, (towards the purchase of a new bike) courtesy of our Kincardine Canadian Tire.

The Kincardine Lions will be on hand with their team supplying BBQ’d hotdogs and hopefully a special guest in “Larry the Lion” will make an appearance. We will also have treats supplied by Kincardine Tim Horton’s.

Bells and reflectors will be given to the first 75 children who show up; courtesy of Kincardine Home Hardware.

For any questions or comments, please do not to hesitate to contact me directly.

REMINDER: KIDS NEED TO CHECK IN/REGISTER WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT THE LEGION ON THE 27TH FOR A CHANCE TO WIN THE $250.00 VOUCHER FOR A NEW BIKE
