The Municipality of Kincardine distributed an update to area residents and businesses set to be impacted by a Reconstruction of Queen Street scheduled for next year.

In the update they say that the sanitary sewer line is needing to be replaced as the municipality can no longer properly maintain it due to its frail condition.

The area being impacted is Queen Street from Durham Market Square South to Durham Street.

It will consist of the replacement of buried assets of water, wastewater and stormwater. There will also be new sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and new asphalt paving.

The construction process is expected to take a full construction season to complete.

A staff report on the project is expected back before Council in August which will be seeking budget approval and approval for a tender to be issued.
