A fifth group has come forward to donate to the second phase of the Lamont Sports Park in Port Elgin.
The Illuminating Dreams Fundraising Campaign announced on Wednesday that KNK Lawn Care are donating $50,000 for naming rights to one of the six diamonds at the park for the next 20 years.
In a news release, KNK owners Matt and Melissa Mulholland say they are thrilled to be a small part of this amazing project.
They join Bruce Power, Rotary Club of Saugeen Shores, the Port Elgin Lion’s Club, and the Saugeen Shores Men’s and Women’s Slo-Pitch Leagues in making monetary contributions to the park.
There are four ball diamonds at the park that have already been completed, and the second phase will see two more diamonds built for youth baseball plus an accessible playground.
The park is scheduled to open sometime in 2023.
