All is set for next week when the return of the Lancaster FM213 in Goderich on June 14th.
This marks the anniversary when on June 14th 1964, the Royal Canadian Airforce flew the retired Lancaster to Goderich and was on display at the Royal Canadian Legion as a war memorial before being acquired in Hamilton in 1977 by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
60 years later at 10am the Lancaster will arrive in town and depart on the 15th at 2pm.
A welcoming ceremony will be held with a BBQ with the Lancaster on display followed by dinner at the legion at 6:30.
Parking will be available on site for as many cars as possible with parking by donation.

June 14th
10 am Arrival
10:30 to 11:30 am – Formal welcoming ceremony – dignitary speeches
11:30 am until 4pm – Lancaster tours open to the public first come first serve
10:00 am until 2 pm – BBQ hosted by COPA
4:00 pm until 5:00 pm – Lancaster Outside only walk around and viewing– Lancaster will be on display until dusk.
5:30 Legion reception
6:30 Legion dinner – $40.00 per plate
7:00 Cadets Inspection located at the airport beside the Lancaster
8:00 Legion Lounge with music until midnight with The Daves I Know
June 15th
10 am to 11 am – Lancaster Outside walk and visual
11- 12:30 Local Fly By – Dignitary Flight
12:30 pm – 1:30 pm – Lancaster Outside walk and visual (no interior tours on Saturday)
10:00 am until 2 pm – BBQ hosted by Lions Club
2:00 pm Lancaster departure
