Federal and provincial funding is coming to Lucknow.

A combined $3.4 Million ($1.9 Million from the federal government, $1.5 from the province) is going towards the replacement of the standpipe in the village.

The funding is coming from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Green Stream.

The project will see 225 metres of the watermain replaced, construction of a new elevated water storage facility, and the removal of the existing standpipe

In a news release, Huron-Kinloss Mayor Mitch Twolan says this is a huge investment for the future of Lucknow.

He says once the project is complete, it will improve access to potable water and increase the safety and durability of water storage in Lucknow.
