Lucknow’s Music in the Fields announced that as part of the Annual Music Festival that if finally returning to an in-person event they are opening the gates to an Emerging Artist Showdown.
The competition has been renamed in honour of James Cameron, who won the first contest back in 2012.
Organizers brought him back in 2013 and again in 2018 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival. James lost his battle with Mental Illness in 2020.
The Emergening Artist Showdown is a time when artists are welcome to submit videos from across Ontario of them performing their music.
The fan favourite and runner-up is decided based on the publics votes, and will be added to the official lineup for the 2022 event as the side-stage opener for their Saturday night headliners.
