The Mayor of the Municipality of Kincardine issued a statement this afternoon on the topic of a statement made by a fellow Councillor at Monday’s Council meeting.
In the statement Mayor Glover says Municipal Councillors are expected to uphold respectful behaviour in our interactions and adhere to a high standard of ethics, given the principles of integrity and accountability that underlie their elected positions.
On February 7th he says that all members of the Municipality of Kincardine Council recommended to honour their Code of Conduct and that on April 4th there was an unacceptable comment made at the Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting.
He adds that he has filed a formal complaint with the Integrity Commission who will determine if a member of council has breached Code of Conduct adding that the Commissioner has informed them that the ruling on the matter will be expedited.
He closes by asking the public for patience while the matter is before the Integrity Commissioner.
