More details are coming out on an action plan designed to address housing issues in Kincardine.

In an email to Shoreline Classics FM from the Muncipality’s Communications Coordinator Jessie McGibbon, the purpose of the Kincardine Housing Action Plan that was passed by Council on Monday is to identify the short and long-term actions aimed at housing availability and support more diverse housing stock.

They say community engagement for their corporate strategic plan cited housing affordability as one of the community’s greatest challenges.

However, they also say they are still trying to determine the full extent of the housing issue in Kincardine.

They say they are looking at leveraging efforts and support from all levels of government including the Province which recently announced a housing task force.

The Municipality is currently soliciting feedback on their plan and are encouraging the public to submit their ideas to them.
