The Municipality of Kincardine has unveiled a new plaque at MacPherson Park.
During the Canada Day celebrations on Tuesday Heritage Kincardine chair Sylvia Leigh and committee members unveiled the Salt Block Plaque at the park.
A portion of the plaque reads Levi Rightmeyer, an American entrepreneur and his wife Isabella owned and operated their saltworks where MacPherson Park stands today and this was one of the three saltworks in Kincardine which exported much of their product to the largest meat packers of Chicago and Milwuakee.
