As the school year winds to a close, NII Explore announced it has completed its final week of coding education that has seen 2,000 elementary students across Bruce & Grey Counties take part.

The program has been going since March of 2020 and sees lessons taught that support grade 2 to 8 curriculum goals of patterns, problem-solving and literacy. It helps rural students learn foundational skills that are key to working in a digital economy.

Projects include a virtual honeybee and flower for younger students to using JavaScript platforms for older students to design two-player video games from scratch.
