Ontario’s Online Gambling world has seen an unbelievable amount of growth since April 4th of this year.

On that date the Alcohol and Gaming Commission, through it’s iGaming Ontario division, allowed residents of the Ontario the ability to bet on casino games, sporting events and other gambling activities through more than 16 gaming operators launched in the province that day.

The move was seen as a response to the offshore gambling industry that had, until that date, had seen Ontarians wagering with sites outside Canada.

The issue of the fallout of gambling though is that the addiction is one that isn’t a problem until it cannot be hidden any more says Red Roof Recovery in Goderich Founder Tanya McLean.

“I see gambling as one of those addictions that is easily hidden for a while. It is probably manageable until it’s not. When it becomes unmanageable then normally it’s in a crisis situation with insurmountable debt.”

Tanya started Red Roof Recovery in Goderich to offer self management and recovery training to those facing problematic substance and behavioral addictions.
