OPP charge impaired drivers in Sauble Beach Saturday

Those charged include a commercial truck driver and a motorist involved in a three-car collision

Grey Bruce OPP dealt with several impaired operators over the weekend in the Sauble Beach area, including a commercial truck driver.

A 40-year-old from Aylmer was charged after getting pulled over on Community Centre Drive at 11:30 am on Saturday. Officers determined the man had a blood alcohol concentration above zero and he is now facing a three-day licence suspension.

Any driver of a vehicle that requires an A-F licence needs to have zero alcohol or drugs in their system under the Highway Traffic Act.

Later that day, officers responded to a three-car vehicle collision the area of Queen Street East. Officers detected signs of impairment from one of the involved drivers, and after testing, hit a 49-year-old man from Sudbury with several charges, including dangerous operation causing harm.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
