Heading into the Thanksgiving Long Weekend, OPP are reminding everyone to make safe choices to get them to and from their destinations.
OPP are joining police forces across Canada for Operation Impact, an annual national traffic safety initiative which puts focus on high risk driving behaviours which lead to serious crashes.
Over the last 10 years in Ontario, Thanksgiving weekend has been the 2nd highest number of fatalities among long weekends with 13 dying last year on OPP roads.
Alcohol has been a leading factor over the last decade as well as failure to wear a seatbelt has also been a major player.
OPP say to make safety a priority this weekend so that arriving safe is one more thing to be thankful for.
