Owen Sound Police catch Porch Pirate after Package stolen Sunday

28-year-old of no fixed address was charged with theft under $5,000, failure to comply with a release order and 3 of failing to comply with a probation order.

The Owen Sound Police have identified a porch pirate after packages were stolen from a West-side residence back on Sunday just after noon.

Officers were called to investigate after a male entered the front porch of the victim’s home and stolen a package that had recently been delivered.

The home was equipped with surveillance cameras and police were able to identify the suspect.

Yesterday around 4 am the offender was located and arrested by officers in the area of 10th Street and 3rd Avenue East in Owen Sound.

The accused, a 28-year-old of no fixed address was charged with theft under $5,000, failure to comply with a release order and 3 of failing to comply with a probation order.

He’s being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The package was not recovered.
