The province is putting funds forward to support emergency services in South Bruce Peninsula and Saugeen First Nation.

Funding is being delivered from the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant to strengthen emergency preparedness by funding local emergency management training, purchasing critical equipment and improving infrastructure to make communities more resilient.

South Bruce Peninsula has received $50,000 to purchase a trailer and firefighting equipment to assist with wildland fire response and Saugeen First Nation is getting a share of $50,000 to purchase a backup generator for the community’s emergency warming centre.

MPP Paul Vickers says these investments will help make our communities are prepared for winter storms and wildfires.
