Reports say the Ford government is planning to lift restrictions on indoor dining by the end of the month.

An official announcement is expected to made tomorrow that would see restaurants and bars be allowed to offer dine-in at 50 percent capacity as of January 31st.

Premier Doug Ford indicated earlier this week that there will be positive news coming.

Health Minister Christine Elliott at a news conference at Queen’s Park yesterday revealed that data shows the omicron variant has reached its peak and should see a downward trend in the number of case counts the coming weeks.

There is no word on whether restrictions will also be lifted for other indoor venues like gyms and movie theatres.

The Province banned all indoor dining and other activities in response a surge in COVID 19 cases especially ones involving the omicron variant.

That ban was set to lift next Wednesday.
