Public Health Begins Fall Immunization Programs

Grey Bruce Public Health is encouraging the public to protect themselves against respiratory viruses this fall.

The Ministry of Health has stared to roll out its fall immunization programs with high risk and priority groups including older adults and long term care home residents receiving the first supply of flu vaccines.

Starting October 26th, flu vaccines will be available to the public at primary care provider offices and participating pharmacies and public health clinics.

Gillian Jordan, Manager of GBPH’s Infectious Disease Program says vaccination is the best defence against common seasonal respiratory viruses including the flu.
