Saugeen Shores has adopted two key by laws aimed to protect trees in the municipality.
The Tree Protection on Town Owned Property By Law and the Urban Tree Conservation Bylaw Together, both reinforce the municipality’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible growth.
An aerial study found that tree canopy covered 39.6 per cent of the urban settlement area in Saugeen Shores.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says these are meaningful steps forward in protecting the trees which define our community’s character and contribute to our environmental health, reflecting dedication to sustainability and a balanced approach to growth.
