The Town of Saugeen Shores is working alongside Habitat for Humanity to increase affordable housing across the area.
Council approved a memorandum of understanding between the town, habitat for humanity and Wilson Developments.
The MOU provides a framework to investigate and work towards an agreement to build up to 30 townhouse units south of Concession Road 10.
Up to five of those units would be transferred to Habitat for Humanity and be sold to qualifying applicants.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says the program brings strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership and is one of the forms of housing people of the Saugeen Shores community want.
