The Saugeen Shores Police had to shatter the window of a car late yesterday afternoon in efforts to rescue a child that had accidentally been locked inside.
In the post to social media by the force they say at approximately 5:22pm police were sent to a home on a report of the child trapped in the vehicle.
Police were contacted by their parents as soon as they realized the emergency.
Due to outside temperatures being around 31 degrees at the time the Saugeen Shore Police realized the child had to e removed as quickly as possible.
The car window was smashed, the door unlocked and the child was rescued. EMS attended the scene and determined the child was ok and no injuries were reported.
