The Town of Saugeen Shores is resuming rehabilitation work on the shoreline along North Shore Road this week.

This is a continuation of work that started last year to fix the trail and protect the road, after several years of high-water levels eroded the shoreline.

The plan is to place large armour stone along the water’s edge and then rebuilt it up to the existing trail & rehabilitate the area.

Crews will them reconstruct a three-meter wide trail beside the existing road. The project also includes an access ramp from the trail to the lake.

The Town is starting the work later in the summer for the second year to again avoid impacting any spawning fish.

The work is expected to last until mid-to-late December.

Road closure and detour info will be shared by the Town shortly.
