The Town of Saugeen Shores is taking more steps to address affordable housing with an increase in its annual contribution to the Municipal Housing Allowance Program.
The program which is administered by Bruce County saw Saugeen Shores council approve an increase in funding from $150,000 to $225,000 annually.
This marks the third straight year of investment in the program.
In 2024 the town doubled its contribution from $75,000 to $150,000 marking another increase of support.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says this increase in funding reflects our commitment to ensuring Saugeen Shores is a place where anyone can find a place to live.
