School board trustee running for NDP in Huron Bruce



We are profiling the candidates running for the Huron Bruce seat in the federal election.

Jan Johnstone is the New Democrat candidate.

She is currently a Bluewater District School Board Trustee for Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss.

Johnstone also ran for the NDP in the 2018 provincial election coming in second behind Lisa Thompson.

She says her background in public education gives her an advantage.



Johnstone says health care is a major issue especially during the pandemic.



Johnstone says voters in Huron Bruce are ready to be better.

She says her leader is one of the reasons she is running for the NDP in Huron Bruce.



Johnstone is running against Conservative incumbent Ben Lobb, James Rice for the Liberals, Jack Stecho of the People’s Party, and independent candidate Justin L Smith.
