Ten South Bruce post-secondary students received a $1,000 bursary to support their continued education from their local municipality.

The Municipality of South Bruce and the Nuclear Waste Management Organization announced the 2022 recipients of the South Bruce Student Bursary this week, as six students from Mildmay, two from South Bruce, one from Teeswater and one from Formosa earned the honours.

Applicants were asked to submit a brief essay and the Community Liaison Committee decided to double the number of bursaries awarded this year after receiving an influx of high-quality applications.

The committee said the ten bursary recipients demonstrated keen insight, ambitious goals and a motivated commitment to make South Bruce a better place to live through community involvement.

The recipients are:

• Lily Batte, South Bruce
• Alicia Campbell, Mildmay
• Hailey Miller, Teeswater,
• Kaylee Rich, Formosa
• Amber Ruetz, Mildmay
• Kiefer Schaus, Mildmay
• Connor Schnurr, Mildmay
• Daniel Stuckless, Mildmay
