A South Bruce Peninsula man is facing charges for assault and resisting arrest after an incident earlier this week.

Grey Bruce OPP responded to a call of assault on John Street in South Bruce Peninsula on Nov. 13.

Officers arrived on scene and placed the individual under arrest, during which, police say the accused began to resist, causing minor injuries to an officer.

The accused was transported to the Wiarton OPP station, where police say he once again became uncooperative and attempted to take a weapon from an officer’s belt.

The 34-year-old faces charges for assault, break and enter, disarming a police officer and more. He will appear in court in Owen Sound at a later date.
