South Bruce OPP shared a video this afternoon on Social Media where Constable Kevin Martin gave a simple message “If you see Snow.. Go Slow”.
He adds that even if you have a modern vehicle, with electronic traction control, all wheel drive, anti-lock breaks and 4 snow tires you need to give yourself a chance to give everyone a chance to get safely where they are going this time of year.
“Last year in South Bruce Detachment Area approximately 1/3 of the collisions we attended were directly attributed speed too fast for conditions.”
He says that sometimes the safest option is postpone your trip until the storm clears.
The snow is falling in @CountyofBruce and the #SouthBruceOPP wants to make sure that drivers are prepared for #SafeWinterDriving. #IfYouSeeSnowGoSlow #RoadSafety ^km pic.twitter.com/iP1JfrtMFQ
