With spring just around the corner, Bruce County is reminding residents this is the perfect time to replenish your home’s emergency kit.
The county’s emergency management team says every household should have an easily accessible Emergency Preparedness Kit in case there is a need to shelter in place.
Some tips to include replenishing your water supply so your family has enough to last three days or more, checking expiry dates of non perishable food items, inspecting battery powered items such as radios and flashlights and to review your family emergency preparedness plan.
Ray Lux, Bruce County’s emergency management coordinator says being prepared allows emergency services to focus on the areas and individuals who need them most.
