The road to Queen’s Park ends as voters head to polls to elect the next provincial government

This is election day in Ontario.

Polls across the province open at 9 this morning and close tonight at 9.

Voters will be electing a government to lead the province for the next four years.

The Progressive Conservatives led by Doug Ford are seeking another term as the governing party.

Andrea Horwath and the New Democrats are looking to make gains after becoming the main opposition party in the 2018 vote.

The rebuilding Liberals are seeking to regain official party status after only taking seven seats in the last election.

In Huron Bruce, Lisa Thompson of the Progressive conservatives is seeking her fourth term as MPP.

The Liberals Shelly Blackmore and Laurie Hazzard of the NDP are looking to unseat the incumbent.

Other candidates running in the riding include Matthew Van Ankum of the Green Party, the New Blue Party’s Matt Kennedy, Bruce Eisen of Ontario Alliance, Gerrie Huenemoerder of the Ontario Party, and Independent Ron Stephens.
