The Town of Goderich has released details of the public celebration of life for Mayor John C. Grace set for Saturday, September 10th starting at 5pm.

The event entitled “Celebrate the Vision” will begin with a band on the Performance Stage at 5pm.

At 7:30 pm a community parade led by the Celtic Blue Highlanders and the Clinton Pipe Band will march from the Legion on Kingston Street, around Courthouse Square, and end on the Courthouse Square Plaza.

Onlookers are asked to join in the parade & march with the service groups to the Performance Stage, as a final show of support for a Mayor who always put his community first.

Following the parade, a presentation on the Performance Stage by family & friends will honour the accomplishments and the larger-than-life man that the Mayor was.

An evening of entertainment will continue on the Performance Stage featuring local bands playing a tribute to Mayor Grace. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.

A temporary memorial will be available to community members to show their respect by placing flowers or messages of condolences. Afterwards, the memorial will be moved to Town Hall.

Kingston Street from the LegionĀ  and the Courthouse Square will be closed to all vehicle traffic from the parade starting at 4 pm. The Town asks anyone needing accessible parking to park on South or East Streets, or the Lighthouse Street parking lots.
