Two men from West Grey have plead guilty and have been fined a total of $8500 for deer hunting violations.
In December last year, a conservation officer spotted the men leaving a rural property with one claiming to have shot an antlerless deer with a muzzle loading gun with the other saying they did not hunt deer.
Further investigation found the kill site and noticed a loaded centerfire rifle in a blind nearby with the officer determined the shooter had been the only one taking part but wasn’t licenced to hunt antlerless deer or possess firearms.
Once the deer was killed, the man then called the other to help cover up the hunt.
