United Way Bruce Grey is reminding residents of the change for electricity in the region which took effect at the start of this month.
The annual winter disconnection ban for residential customers ended April 30th and those who have fallen behind on their bills may have already gotten a reminder or disconnection notice.
United Way says there are support programs available for customers who need help with their bill payments and are encouraged to dial 211.
On top of the disconnection ban ending, May 1st also marks the summer time use of pricing in Ontario.
Off peak electricity rates, when electricity is at its cheapest will be in effect for longer evening hours and more time on the weekend giving consumers more flexibility to shift their usage to the lower times.
