United Way of Huron Perth are offering grants to non-profit organizations that are looking at ways to help their communities.

As of Monday, applications are being accepted for the 2022-2023 New Initiatives Grant.

Organizations can receive a one-year grant of up to $20,000.

Director of Governance and Community Impact Megan Partridge says it is similar to grants scientists receive for research and development of new medical treatments.

Partridge says one example is the Huron County Food Distribution Centre where they tested mobile trucks that delivered fresh food to rural areas.

Submissions will be open until November 5th and can be done from United Way Perth Huron’s website.
