The Walk for Courage with the Canadian Mental Health Association of Grey Bruce was able to haul in plenty of support for mental health.
More than 160 participants took part in the walk split between Owen Sound and Hanover and many more moving virtually in their own communities, demonstrating the growing reach of the event.
A total of $49,248 was initially raised, just shy of the $50,000 goal when Josh Burnett, owner of Owen Sound Fitness & Training gave an additional donation to help reach the goal.
The Walk for Courage marked its 5th anniversary in memory of Jeff Courage to encourage more open conversations around mental health and suicide.
