The decommissioning of the Wingham Standpipe will begin late this week.
On Thursday, the standpipe will be taken out of service to prepare for its demolition and replacement.
The standpipe will be drained on July 2nd and residents may see hoses in the area draining to nearby catch basins.
On July 6th, construction fencing will begin with the sidewalk north of John Street East between Carling Terrace and Summit Drive being closed.
Demolition will begin July 13th with water pressure being maintained by several pumps over the course of the work.
The construction window is around 1 year to meet substantial completion.
