The Saugeen Shores Winterhawks are going back to their roots this Friday night, hosting a game at the Southampton Coliseum while rocking some unique throwback jerseys.

The team will wear black and white Lakeshore Winterhawks gear when they host the Lucknow Lancers beginning at 8:30 p.m.

The original Lakeshore Winterhawks played at the Coliseum from 1989 until 1996. Team President Gord Lamont said they talked about wearing the special jerseys in the past, but decided against it until they could go back to Southampton.”

The jerseys will be auctioned off at a later date and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

The Hawks Nest bar will be open in the Coliseum’s Green Room, and the stands will be licensed during the game.

The Winterhawks enter the game in fourth place in the jam-packed WOAA standings with a 12-4-1 record, one point behind the Ripley Wolves, and two points ahead of the Tavistock Royals.
