The act of raising money for charitable causes has been severely impacted by the restrictions in the Province that are just starting to ease.

One organization rolling with them is the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation. They are returning with their Legends Day at the Clinton Raceway on Sunday, June 12th starting at 1:30pm. The event has meant a lot in terms of fundraising says Darlene McCowan, Coordinator of the Foundation.

“In the past since 2009 they have raised a total profit of nearly $200,000 from this event so we are super appreciative of the Clinton Raceway and all of the support we get at the event.”

She added that the funds go towards capital expenses at the Hospital like capital equipment, infrastructure upgrades and modern technology that is not funded by the government.

The Community has been supportive to the Foundation last year even in light of them not being able to hold their fundraising events with them able to transfer over $1 million dollars to the hospital. It is a record amount in fundraising.
