A few neighbours to the Lucknow Kinsmen’s Graceland expressed noise and disruption concerns as the group looks to bring the Dungannon Tractor Pull to their property this summer.

Huron-Kinloss and Bruce County council are looking at amending their official plan and zoning by-law to expand permitted uses for the Graceland property to include two new events, the tractor pull and the Summerfest festival in June.

Kinsmen also proposed holding a Lucknow Reunion every 10 years, with the next slated to take place in 2028. (The reunion would take the place of Summerfest in those years.)

The only public comments received in opposition to the proposal have come from neighbours, who already cited annoyance with the Music in the Fields. One property owners one raised safety concerns over how close tractor pull’s proposed demolition derby would be to their fence.

No one else spoke against the proposed events, with only the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority recommending that they limit camping and other accommodations to areas outside of the flood hazard.

Town staff say they will continue to work with event organizers through the process to address concerns related to each specific event.
