Hanover man faces Impaired Charges after Single-Car Accident in Port Elgin Saturday

Police arrived around 4 am to find a Dodge truck had driven off the road in the area of Ridge Street & Catherine Street  and collided with an electrical box.

A Hanover man faces charges of impaired driving after Saugeen Shores Police received a report of a single vehicle collision in Port Elgin Saturday afternoon.

Police arrived around 4 am to find a Dodge truck had driven off the road in the area of Ridge Street & Catherine Street  and collided with an electrical box.

The driver had fled the scene on foot.

Police later located them with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Unit on Market Street near Shantz Street.

The 22-year-old was charged with impaired operation 80 plus, dangerous operation and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.

Their license has been suspended and their vehicle impounded.
