Huron County’s SLED Program slides $87,500 to local projects

Huron County has awarded over $87,000 to nine different community projects through their Supporting Local Economic Development (SLED) program.

The projects all demonstrated an ability to engage the workforce, impact business districts or advance tourism and development. Successful applications were awarded by a selection panel of local economic development judges.

The local projects that were awarded funds are as follows:

  1. Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh | Dungannon Farmers’ Market
  2. Municipality of Central Huron | Sculpture Garden Installation
  3. Eat Local Huron | Agro-tourism: Farm Crawls
  4. Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health | SHARP (Skills for Healthcare, Attraction and Retention)
  5. Huron County Farmers’ Market Association | Farmer’s Market Enhancement Project
  6. The Township of North Huron | Cruickshank Park Enhancement Project
  7. Seaforth BIA | Reuse, Recycle and Refurbish Project
  8. South Huron Arts Centre | Pottery Studio/Class Initiative
  9. The Town of Goderich | Wayfinding Signage Project

Huron County Warden Glen McNeil congratulated all successful applicants in a release, noting his excitement seeing this type of creativity and positive energy being infused into the community.
