The Municipality of Kincardine announced that due to an increase in use, and in line with launch ramp common practices they will be implementing a “pay per use” system for the launch ramp.

It had been one of the few that did not charge for its usage but now falls in line with common practice with many surrounding harbours and marinas.

Director of Community Services, Jayne Jagelewski says that in the past 10 years considerable work and expense has been required to maintain the launch ramp and that additional work will be required this year due to receding water levels.

For the current 2022 season, users will be charged $10 per day or $50 per season plus tax. Fees will not be charged for existing slip permits as well as launch use during the fishing derby.

This is in support of the work at the Lake Huron Fishing Club and its initiatives. The Charity Chinook Classic runs July 23 to August 7. Funds collected through charging for launch ramp use will be reflected in the Marina’s budget and available for ongoing launch ramp maintenance.
