The OPP has said a shooting in a village east of Ottawa has left one officer dead and two others injured.
Police from the Russell County Detachment were called just after 2 am this morning to a home on Laval Street in Bourget, Ontario 50 kilometers east of Ottawa.
The three arriving officers were shot by an individual at the home. All were taken to hospital.
One of them has since died of their injuries with the other 2 recovering.
One person has been taken into custody and there is no risk to public safety.
